LTS collaborated with King’s College London to create exceptional new Student Union facilities at the historic Grade II*-Listed Old Guy’s Hospital. Working closely with King’s College Students’ Union (KCLSU), we undertook extensive research to understand the needs of all building users. This allowed us to develop briefs that not only secured dedicated space for the Union but also secured funding within the College’s campus expansion.

The success of the briefing process has been recognized by the Chief Executive of KCLSU, who now presents it as a model of effective briefing and design for student unions.

At Guy’s Campus, we have successfully restored the original Georgian volumes of the Grade II*-listed Old Guy’s Hospital, combining contemporary detailing and materials. The West Wing now houses activity rooms for sports societies, student use, and teaching, while the East Wing boasts a new café server—a bold intervention clad in metal. Additionally, we carried out a comprehensive refurbishment of Guy’s Bar as part of our work in the East Wing.
