To further the educational pedagogy of the school, all projects will be designed to enhance the existing biodiversity and ecology on the site, through a considered landscape design and sensitive approach to construction methodology. Providing better opportunity for community outreach is and additional overarching goal of the Oxford High Prep School masterplan. The proposed phase 1 projects aim to provide spaces and facilities to further enhance the opportunity to connect with the local community and provide valuable facilities to support local groups and charities.
It is the intent to utilize an area of the garden of 78 Banbury Road to enable connection and circulation around the newly combined School site, and provide outdoor play and learning space. All existing carparking will be removed from 76 Banbury front and back gardens, with the existing School carparking being retained.
The masterplan aims to works towards the following community focused goals:
– Creating a united Prep School
– Enhancing opportunities for community connection
– Working towards a sustainable school
– Creating a garden campus
The masterplan is also focused on ensuring the new expanded site is well connected, taking the opportunity to enhance the educational experience within the school site with new routes created to connect buildings. Site rationalization is also key, aiming to separate pedestrian access and vehicular servicing areas to provide a new secure line that promotes safeguarding for the school community.
